Annexation of Hawaii

This issue of this political cartoon is that out of the four babies, Uncle Sam drops baby Hawaii. The cartoonist message is that Uncle Sam is a "father" to Philippines, Porto Rico, and Cuba but not to Hawaii. There are two techniques in this political cartoon. The first one is symbolism because this is not how Hawaii was annexed , and the second one is labeling because the babies have writing on their clothes.​The cartoon supports American Imperialism because Hawaii is now free.
